Jules Verne Technological Research Institute
As a vector of competitiveness helping develop new growth opportunities for French businesses and industry, the Jules Verne Technological Research Institute has become a global innovation centre since it opened in 2012. With a budget of €270 million, it imagines the processes of the industry of the future, with the support of research and educational institutions – 1.7 billion euros worth of R&D projects accredited since 2005 –, and large industrial groups (Airbus, Chantiers navals, DCNS, Alstom, Dassault, Veolia, Saffron, Renault and more).
Nantes European Capital of Innovation 2019
The city of Nantes in north-west France is the European Capital of Innovation 2019, the Commission announced in september 2019 at the European Research and Innovation Days.
The title was awarded to Nantes in recognition for its outstanding ability to harness innovation to improve the lives of its citizens and its open and collaborative governance model.
